This is what it looks like finished — a reference render, not yet a real photo by Eduardo.

A fluid vertical form with a single elegant opening in its interior — the most complete exercise in this route in terms of process, because it runs through the ten real stages of a piece: from the rough block to the front profile, from the side profile to the hollowing, and from the hollowing to the final polish.

Note: the images on this page are reference renders generated to plan the piece — they are not photos of a sculpture Eduardo has already finished. They'll be replaced with real process photos once the piece is carved in the workshop.

What you'll need

Before you start: this project has more stages than the rest of the route — don't carve it in a single session. Split it into at least three short sessions: roughing-out, hollowing, and finishing.

Step by step

1

Bloque inicial

What you'll need

V-gouge, U-gouge, and sandpaper — the same trio from the relief exercise, applied to a volume form.
